Gejja Women Foundation

The Gejja Women Foundation empowers rural Ugandan women and girls to overcome period poverty and pursue education, health, and become  economically independent. Gejja promotes menstrual health education, as well as equipping participants with the knowledge and materials needed to create reusable sanitary pads through its “Safe Girl” initiative. Other focus areas include educational support, entrepreneurship, and regenerative agriculture.

Gejja’s work has been linked to higher school attendance, better academic performance, and increased self‑confidence among school going girls. Their impact to date includes over 10k reusable pads produced and distributed, and over 500 women working under the Foundation

By combining health, education, and sustainable entrepreneurship, the Gejja Women Foundation exemplifies a market-driven and  impact-led model.
