Vital Care Connect
Born from the harrowing personal experience of co‑founder Mackline Kobusingye—who nearly lost her life during a home birth due to lack of resources—this social enterprise is on a mission to reduce maternal and infant mortality in rural Uganda. Operating mobile clinics across underserved communities, Vital Care Connect delivers antenatal and postnatal care, distributes low‑cost safety birth kits and nutritional porridge, and provides family planning, childbirth education, and health counseling directly in villages.
By integrating home‑based care with mobile outreach, Vital Care Connect brings critical services to women’s doorsteps—bridging the gap caused by poverty, distance, and health system shortcomings. Their model ensures affordability and accessibility, with a portion of profits used to cross‑subsidize services for teenage mothers and refugee communities. Beyond emergency care, they cultivate long‑term well‑being by offering nutritional programs, tracking antenatal and postnatal appointments, facilitating family planning, and engaging men in counseling sessions that foster supportive home environments and reduce gender‑based violence.
